Privacy Policy
Fyro ("we", "us") is a desktop app: Fyro Terminal brings the projects on your computer and your remote hosts into one window, with a persistent shell for each project. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the Fyro app, the website (fyro.sh) and related services, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have.
1. Data we collect
Account data
- When you sign in with Google, the email address, display name and Google account identifier that Google provides to us. We never receive your password, and we do not keep Google's access tokens.
- When your sign-in session was created and last used. Sessions expire after 14 days without use.
Data created by using Fyro
- The to-dos and notification history you create in Fyro, stored per account so you see them when you sign in on another computer.
- metrics: the name you give each machine, and the CPU, memory and disk usage and total capacity that the reporting script you install on it sends every minute. This data is kept for 7 days. We store only a hash of each machine's reporting token.
Data that stays on your computer
Fyro Terminal does its core work on your computer. The following is never sent to our servers:
- Your project list and folder paths, the contents of each shell and the commands you type, and the status of agents in the terminal.
- The hosts in
~/.ssh/config, your ssh keys, and any password you enter when adding a host in the devices tab (it is used only to install your public key on that machine, then discarded and never written to a file). - Screenshots and screen recordings. When pasted into a remote project, files are sent only to your own host.
Technical data
- When the app checks for updates, it sends your operating system, processor architecture and current version to our server so we can give you the right installer.
- The download buttons on the website ask our server for the latest version. The website itself is a static page with no trackers.
- Basic logs our servers produce while handling requests (request time, errors), used for operations and debugging.
We do not use advertising trackers, we do not collect your location, contacts, camera or microphone data, and we do not sell your personal data.
2. How we use this data
- To provide the service: sign-in, syncing your to-dos and notification history, showing machine usage, and delivering automatic updates.
- To keep the service secure and reliable: verifying identity, detecting and fixing errors.
- To contact you about important service matters, such as material changes to the terms or this policy.
3. Agents and third-party tools
Programs you run in Fyro Terminal's shells (such as Claude Code) are third-party tools that run directly on your computer or your remote hosts, and handle data under their own terms and privacy policies. Fyro reads only the shell's screen and process list to work out an agent's status, and never sends that content to us.
4. Who we share data with
We share only what is needed to run the service with the following providers, who are contractually required to protect it:
- Cloudflare: backend services, database and storage for update files.
- Amazon Web Services: hosting for the website.
- Google: sign-in.
These providers may process data in countries or regions other than where you live. Beyond this, we share your data with third parties only when required by law, to protect the safety of users or the public, or with your consent.
5. Retention and deletion
- Deleting a machine in the metrics tab immediately revokes its reporting token and removes the data it reported. The reporting script can be removed from the machine with
sudo fyro-metrics uninstall. - Usage data is kept for 7 days; sign-in sessions are removed after 14 days without use.
- Signing out clears the sign-in state on that computer. To delete your account and all of its data, email [contact email] and we will handle it within a reasonable time.
- Server logs are kept only as long as needed for operations.
6. Your rights
Under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act and the laws that apply where you live, you may request access to, a copy of, supplementation or correction of, the cessation of collection, processing or use of, or the deletion of your personal data. Email [contact email] and we will reply within a reasonable time.
7. Security
All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Machine reporting tokens are shown only once when created, and the server keeps only their hash; the client secret for Google sign-in exists only on the server. No system can guarantee absolute security; if an incident affects your personal data, we will notify you as required by law.
8. Children
Fyro is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy and will change the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be announced in advance in the app or on the website.
